Painting is something that I do randomly, and not near often enough. It is a way for me to express feelings and memories with solid materials. Today my newest addition is honor of all women who have had a battle with cancer, "Think Pink."
My mother passed away from cancer in 2003 and today I am haunted by both happy and sad memories. Her battle was up and down, with many wins, but ultimately she lost the war. It was a painful process, and I was honored to stand beside her as she faced her battle straight on.
Another piece that I finished up today was a little one that ties with the memory of childhood. Born and raise in San Diego I enjoyed the beach, and all the fun that came with it. Now that I am older the beach, though still a playground in many ways, is also a place of peace and rest for me. This piece is called "Peaceful."
Lastly, I wanted to share one of my favorite pieces! I painted this one when I was experiencing freedom for the first time from self-hatred, something that I have struggled with most of my adult life. When I look at this painting it symbolizes life, and all the twist and turns that come with it. And though life is not easy, when you stand back and look at it, it is really a wonderful adventure!
Thank you for reading! Just wanted to take a moment to share some of my pieces here with you!
All art pieces are original, and custom orders are welcomed!
